Working to reduce oedema and inflammation

Please note that although RLD is based on the principles of MLD (Manual Lymph Drainage, also known as Lymphatic Drainage Massage) it is conducted entirely on the feet. I am not a massage therapist and I do not offer MLD.

RLD is an award winning reflexology technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet. The aim is to cause an effect on the lymphatic system in the body. It is a unique sequence which has been researched and developed by Sally Kay BSc(Hons), whilst working in Cancer Care. The results appear to support the theory of reflexology.

In April 2018 I was delighted to have the opportunity to learn this pioneering form of reflexology with Sally Kay herself and I now use many of the techniques in my regular reflexology treatments, as well as using the full RLD sequence when working with lymphoedema patients.

Lymphatic drainage massage (MLD) is used to treat conditions other than lymphoedema, and RLD may be used similarly, so it may be useful with the following conditions:
  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • Eczema
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Fibromyalgia
  • ME
  • Sinus problems
  • Migraines
  • Headaches
  • Muscular tension
  • Aches and pains
  • Premenstrual Syndrome
